The Junior Inter-Provinical Chess Championships were held recently in St Benildus School, Stillorgan. Three teams competed in the Under 16 competition and in a close and hard fought battle Leinster edged out Connacht 10½-9&rac12; points to win the trophy. Ulster were third with 7 points. Results.

In the Under 19 competition there were two teams and Leinster led from round one and defeated Ulster 11½-6½ points. Many thanks to Frank Scott and St Benildus School for the use of their facilities. Results.
