The Irish Women’s Chess Championship will take place from 6th – 7th February 2016 in the Arts Club, 3 Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin 2. There will be a generous prize fund with 400 euro for first place, 200 for second place and 100 for third place.

The event will be sponsored by www.Awardsandgifts.ie while www.wholesalechess.co.uk will be providing the champion with free entry, accommodation b&b at the venue hotel for the South Wales International in July and will help towards any other expenses. The South Wales International is a week long 10 round FIDE tournament with norm possibilities about 4 miles from Cardiff. Our sponsorship agreement with Awardsandgifts.ie will run through 2018 and will also include the sponsorship of the 2017 and 2018 Women's Championships.

90 minutes for the entire game with an addition of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

Notes:
- The ICU will run the 2016 Irish Women’s Championship in July 2016 along with the Irish Senior Championships
- Irish Women’s Championship is only open to Irish female players ( registered with FIDE as IRL ) or
- Irish female players not yet registered with FIDE must be registered as IRL
- All entrants must be current members of the ICU
- All sets and clocks will be provided
