Open Weekender
Report
The Irish Championships Open Weekender was held in the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan from Friday 9th - Sunday 11th August 2019. 63 players took part ranging in strength from masters to beginners in a friendly atmosphere with plenty of space and light, as commented on by players from Sweden and Holland in particular. In all there were players from 10 different federations represented, giving the event an international flavour. As well as the main prizes there were three grading prizes of €75 awarded to the highest scorers in three rating bands as below, the Under 900 prize being decided on tiebreak.
