Schedule

• Check-in: 10:00
  
• Opening Ceremony: 10:45

• Lunch Break: After Round 3 – Free Pizza
  
• Approximate Finish: 17:30, followed by a short prize-giving
  

NB: Players must check in to be included in Round 1 pairings.

Prizes

Trophies and cash prizes (subject to entries) will be awarded for:

• Open: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place
  
• Women: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place
  
• Best Unrated Player

In the event of a tie:

• Cash prizes will be combined and split among tied players
  
• Trophies will be awarded based on tiebreaks
  

University Trophy: Awarded to the university with the highest total points from its top 5 scoring players.

Format

• 7-round rapid tournament using the Swiss pairing system
  
• Individual event: everyone plays all rounds; no knockouts
  
• Time control: 15+10 minutes per player
  
• Scoring: 1 point for a win, 0.5 for a draw, 0 for a loss
  
• Rating: Not FIDE rated; no FIDE or ICU ID required
  

Arbiter

• Chief Arbiter: FA Ivan Baburin
  
• Pairings managed with official Swiss Manager software
  
• Pairings displayed on a projector in the hall and uploaded to chess-results.com

Photography

• A professional photographer will capture candid and action shots throughout the event
  
• Each player will receive at least one individual portrait at the board, professionally edited and shared via Google Photos
  
• If you do not wish to be photographed, a “No Photos” badge is available at the arbiter’s table. Place this by your board during play to opt out

Equipment

• All equipment will be provided, including official DGT tournament-standard boards and clocks
  
• You do not need to bring anything

Nameplates

• Each player receives a custom nameplate displaying their name and college affiliation, which they can place at their board each round
  
• The deadline to enter in order to receive a customised nameplate is Tuesday, 24th February
