The Millfield International Chess Tournament, the de facto British Isles Schools Chess Championship, took place on 11th and 12th October 2014 in Millfield School, Somerset. Congratulations to Gonzaga College who secured a rare double winning both sections, Championship and Major. A record 60 Irish players from four schools participated in five teams, two from Gonzaga, one from St. Benildus College, a combined St. Andrew’s College/ St. Benildus College team and a team from Collaiste Eanna, Rathfarnham. It is hoped to see more Irish schools participate in this event in the coming years.
