Gonzaga have retained the Millfield International Schools Chess Championships, played in Street, Somerset on Oct 10th- 11th , with St. Benildus winning the Major section. Around 72 Irish juniors (24 from each of Gonzaga, St. Benildus and Collaiste Eanna) travelled to make up 6 of the 15 teams. Conor O’Donnell scored a perfect 7/7 to win the board 1, U18 and best tournament performance prizes. A full report is expected shortly.
