The Irish Chess Union regrets to announce the passing of ICU Chairman, Mr. Philip Hogarty, on January 1st 2008. Philip was adored by those who knew him. Irish Chess has lost a great servant and friend.

The funeral service for Philip will be held at St. Thomas' Church, Kiltalown Way, Jobstown, Tallaght, on Saturday, 5th Jan 2008, at 11 am. The cortege will then proceed to the crematorium and cemetry at Newland's Cross, Ballymount Road.
