St. Benildus Chess Club will be holding their traditional Christmas Charity Blitz in the club on Wednesday 21 January coming. Registration is at 7:15pm, and the tournament consists of 8 player all-play-all groups, followed by a knock out stage, so seven games are guaranteed. Games are 10 minutes in total, with handicaps for rating differences up to a maximum of 8 minutes v. 2. There are plenty of spot prizes going, and all proceeds are split between the Simon Community and the Samaritans.
Entry is 12 for adults and 6 for students. Boards and clocks will be provided as much as the club can; spares for the night are welcome!
