2005-2006 Grand Prix
1-29
29-01-2006

Standings after the Leinster Championships:

Section 1, Section 2, Section 3

The Grand Prix will continue at the following tournaments: Gonzaga (1600-2000 and 1200-1600 only), Bunratty (all three events), Cork (All three events) and the Irish Championships in July. The Irish Senior Championship will count for the "over 2000" Grand Prix event, while the weekender on the opening weekend of the championships will count for the other two events.

An issue has arisen in relation to whether players, who have garnered points in the Grand Prix to date but whose gradings now exceed the 1600 and 2000 limits, should be permitted to continue to play in the lower events, while the Grand Prix continues. The Committee have considered the implications of this and have decided that they should not. Any points won to date will of course be credited to them and will entitle them to prizes at the end of the series. The views of the wider membership on this issue will be sought at the next AGM in relation to future years.
