Tournament Report:

This was the 3rd edition of the DCU Open, the first to include more than 200 players and the first to take place in the Auditorium of the St. Patrick's Campus. This year had the most live boards so far, with 22. Generous sponsorships and support from Larkhill & District Credit Union and Chess.ie allowed us to raise the prize fund by €1000 over the previous edition.

We would also like to thank the ICU, the Knights of Éanna/Rathmines chess club and Krzysztof Nowak for their lend of sets and clocks as well as the organisers: David Murphy, Ronan Barrett, Jennifer Lynch, Elma Jegasuthan for her incredible work as assistant arbiter and the DCU Chess Society Volunteers - Emmet O'Rourke, Jacob Nelson, Zydre Baltinaite etc.

It was a lot of work making this event happen. It took a lot of help from a lot of great people. We hope you enjoyed playing the games, or watching them from home!
