The expenditure incurred by your Union this year was dominated by the following items totallying 18,341:
- 7,000 Glorney Cup
- 5,044 Support for Congresses
- 4,110 Training
- 2,187 FIDE Costs
This represents 71% of members fees while the surplus of 5,818 is equivalent to 23% of expenditure.
The Irish Championship was run at a net cost to the Union of 2,000 having been generously supported by Island Oil & Gas. We are actively seeking an alternative sponsor for the 2010 event and would like to thank Island Oil & Gas for their support over the past three years.
There will be an Olympiad next which will cost approximately 4,000 while the Glorney expenses should cost about 7000.
The outlook for 2010 is bleak in financial terms and we may have difficulty in repeating the 4110 spend on training this year.
I would like to thank the committee for their support.
