1. e4 c5 2. Nc3 g6 3. g3 Bg7 4. Bg2 Nc6 5. d3 d6 6. Nh3 Nf6 7. f4 Bg4 8. Qd2 Nd4 Blacks pieces have been swarming like ants but the horse now returns to his stable to get some insect repellent 9. Ng1 ! 9...  e5 10. h3 SHOO! 10...  Be6 11. Nce2 O-O 12. c3 Scat 12...  Nc6 13. Nf3 exf4 Black wants to open the diagonal for his dark squared bishop but I was more concerned with 13. . c4 ! 14. Nxf4 Bd7 15. g4 castling was more circumspect but I was out for blood. 15...  Ne5 16. g5 Ne8 17. Nd5 Be6 Not a bad move but Nc7 getting the Knight back into play was more natural. 18. Qe2 Bxd5 19. exd5 f5 20. h4 Nc7 21. Nxe5 Bxe5 22. Qf3 Qe7 Qe8 was more accurate 23. Kf2 According to Fritz the king is safer on d1 or d2 but I was afraid of blocking my rook or bishop. White's advantage is only slight. 23...  Rae8 24. Bd2 Qg7 25. a4 b5 ?! A dubious decision. Black is in no position to encourage the opening of lines. 26. axb5 Nxb5 27. Ra5 h5! was stronger 27...  Rb8 28. h5 Better late than never. 28...  f4 29. Bh3 Nc7 30. Bc1 Rb7 31. hxg6 hxg6 32. Qe4 Rfb8 33. Ra2 Kf7 ? Black still harbours unrealistic hopes and clears the way to contest the h file. Re8 or Qf7 would have maintained equality. 34. b4 I return the favour. Bd7! wins material but the move played does have it's points. 34...  cxb4 35. d4 Voila 35...  Nb5 36. dxe5 Nxc3 37. Qxf4+ Ke8 Now white has a most amazing winning move. I bet you can't find it no matter what your rating. 38. Qc4 ?! Nope this isn't it. I'll tell you at the end of the game. 38...  Nxa2 39. Qxa2 Qxe5 40. Be6 b3 41. Qb1 Qg7 ?? A blunder. black had to play Qd4 check first then if 42 Be3 he could have gone to g7. 42. Bb2 Qf8+ 43. Bf6 Rg7 44. Qe4 b2 45. Qa4+ Incredibly the key move is Kg2!! when Black's best is dxe5 Re1 Re7 Qd2 Nxa2 Qxa2 Kf8 . Taking the Rook immediately with 38...Nxa2 would have led to a forced mate. Check it all out on Fritz! 1-0
