When Garry Kasparov visited Dublin earlier this year, the ICU arranged for him to have a private meeting, at his request, with one-time Phibsboro member, Paul Hewson (better known nowadays as Bono). After the meeting, Bono wrote to Kasparov and, amongst other things, reminisced about the joys he had found in chess. The letter can be found on Kasparov's campaign site. And of course, when Bono feels like putting the guitar down and picking up a pawn again, we will make him very welcome.
