Irish players are eligible to play in events run by the British Women's Chess Association (BWCA). On 10th and 11th February, the BWCA is holding its National Girls' Championships and, on 11th February, its Women's Rapidplay which incorporates the Under 16 and Under 21 Championships. Both the two-day event for girls under 14 and the one-day rapidplay are at the Elmbank Hotel, York which is offering substantial reductions on room rates.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the new website. This site also features a rating list that includes active Irish women players. For example, our current number one, Suzanne Connolly, is 12th in this list.
