The Belfast Summerfest Tournament was held at Belfast Boat Club on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2005. This was the final event for the 1600-2000 and 1200-1600 sections of The 2004-2005 Irish Chess Union Grand Prix. The Open was won by Stephen Scannell from Bangor Chess Club. The Challengers ended in a tie between Ciaran Marron (RVH) and John Kelly (Phibsboro).
