At its committee meeting held on Sunday 10th May 2010, the Irish Chess Union decided to send a Women's and a Men's team to the Olympiad at Khanty-Mansiysk Siberia, from September 19th to October 4th, reports , Chairman of the ICU.
A preliminary entry has been made and the final team composition will be submitted at the end of July in accordance with the rules of the organising committee. This will allow time to clarify the availability of our best players and ensure that all people selected can travel.
The selection committee unanimously agreed that this year's Irish Champion can win the automatic right to selection. The selection committee's decision was accepted and approved by the ICU. A report of this selection committee is available.
