A short meeting was held in Kilkenny on Tuesday, 7-Sep with Mary Coughlan, Minister for Education. Present were Dr Garry Courtney, Darko Polimac, and John Alfred - ICU Development Officer. The purpose of the meeting was to explore the possibility of making Chess a school subject. The meeting was positive and the Minister was given a copy of the Book, The Benefits of Chess in Education. Further meetings are to be arranged.
