Chess For All tournaments were held in Kilkenny (24th Jan) and Laois (26 Jan). Kilkenny tournament director Maurice Buckley and tournament arbiter Darko Polimac were delighted with 45 enthusiastic chess juniors (full results). The best player was Tom Kennedy (St. Patrick De La Salle, Kilkenny) with a perfect score of 5/5. The real hero was 7 year old Dylan Foley (Clonegal NS) who came 2nd losing only one game in the last round. Both Tom and Dylan are members of the Chess School Polimac Kilkenny. The Laoise tournament attracted 65 players and was won by Enda Parlon with another perfect score of 7/7 (full results).
