Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Irish Youth Chess Association, it had to make some significant changes to the 2006 Irish Universities Championship. The event will now be held on Saturday 1st April 2006 at the Dublin Institute of Technology (Aungier St.) Entry fee is 60 Euro (Stg 40 pounds) per team. Closing date for entries is Friday March 24th, with entry fees paid and completed registration forms (incomplete entries will not be accepted). Registration forms will be available from from Thursday 23rd February.
All players must be current students of a recognised 3rd level institute in Ireland or Northern Ireland. Teams will consist of three players in each match (Up to five players may be registered per team). 3rd level institutes may enter more than one team, but individual players may play for one team only. All players are reminded that in order to qualify for the Irish University National Team, under FISU (World University Sports Body) rules they must have previously represented their institution in a National University Championship (such as this one).
