The 3rd Annual Dun Laoghaire Rapidplay took place on Sunday 18th August in the Dun Laoghaire Club. There was an increased entry this year of 40 players, including 11 rated over 2000. The top seeds were FMs Ryan Rhys Griffiths, David Fitzsimons and Irish Champion Colm Daly.
Juri Firstov played an impressive tournament drawing with Griffiths in round 4 and beating Daly and Fitzsimons in the last 2 rounds to finish clear winner on 5½/6 and take home the first prize of 300 Euro. Ciaran Quinn, joint winner last year, finished second on 5 points. Four players shared third prize: Ryan Rhys Griffiths, Colm Daly, Mel O'Cinneide and Bernard Palmer. Grading prizes were won by Vincent Bissett (under 1800) and William Ffrench (under 1500). Full cross table.
