The Irish Chess Union

This event was organised to select an U16 interprovincial team and to help Connaught junior players get their first ratings. With the top 6 finishers all getting free membership of the ICU. It was supported by coaches and players from Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim. The results of the event were:

1. Eibhia Ni Mhuireagain (Co. Leitrim) 7/7
2. Jack Kelly (Castlebar, Co. Mayo) 6/7
3. Ellen Murray (B'sloe CC, Co. Galway) 5/7

Three other players qualified for the Connaught interprovincial team and free ICU membership: David Hanrahan (B’sloe CC, Co. Galway), Leah Fleming (Claregalway), and Andrejs Kozlovs of Galway. The picture (full size here) shows (R to L): Eibhia, Jack, Ellen, Andrejs and Leah.
