Nominations
The following nominations have been received for positions on the Executive Committee.
Chairperson: (Phillip Hogarty and Gay Martin); Vice-Chairperson (Donal Fennelly); Secretary(Darren McCabe); Ratings Officer(John Shearan); Junior Officer(Rory Delaney); Public Relations Officer(Mark Quinn); Arbitration Officer(Herbert Scarry); Tournament Controller(Phillip Hogarty); Irish Chess Journal Editors(joint - John Healy and Kevin Burke); Development Officer(John Alfred)
There were no nominations for Treasurer and Membership Officer, and these will be accepted at the AGM. In the case of Chairperson two valid nominations were received and an election will therefore be held at the AGM.
In the case of the positions of Irish Chess Journal Editor/s and Development Officer, additional nominations may be received at the AGM. The reason is that due to an oversight, these positions were not included in the original call for nominations.
Motions
- Numbers 1a to 1c: Proposed by ICU Executive (Originally suggested by Mark McGovern)
- 1a: That in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Irish Junior Chess, the ICU confer Honorary Life Membership on Jack Hennigan.
- 1b: That in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Irish Junior Chess, the ICU confer Honorary Life Membership on Frank Scott.
- 1c: That in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Irish Junior Chess, the ICU confer Honorary Life Membership on Gerry Murphy.

- That the position of Women's Officer be created on the ICU executive

- The ICU AGM should reverse last year's decision to automatically select the first two in the Irish Championships (at time of selection) for the Olympiad team. Selecting the current Irish Champion (at time of selections) should be sufficient

- That all ICU rated games must be played to a finish in one session"

- That the rules governing eligibility to represent Ireland at Junior level be amended to abolish the requirement to play in the Irish Junior Championships

Documentation
All relevant documentation will be posted on this website prior to the AGM. This will include the officers' reports, accounts for last year, and minutes of the previous AGM.
All ICU members registered for the current year are entitled to attend and vote (for those 16 or over) at this meeting.
Please note that the prizes for Senior Player of the Year and the ICU Grand Prix will be presented during the AGM.
The Irish Blitz Championships will take place at the same venue, from 10:30 am to 1 pm. Players may enter on the day and MUST be registered and fully paid up ICU members for 2005-2006, prior to the Tournament. Please bring chess equipment.
