The Irish Chess Journal was produced twice this season, in February and August, as planned. The August issue was a bit later than expected, due to a combination of many small delays.

Printing costs were slightly in excess of €4000, with postage making up the remainder of our €6000 budget.

We've received a lot of positive remarks on the journal and we'd like to take the opportunity to thank a couple of people whose work on it is less visible. Gerry O'Connell, the outgoing ICJ treasurer, has been invaluable in his work on the distribution end of things. He collects the journals from the printer, helps put them in envelopes and label them and he is the person who gets them franked. A second person who has been invaluable is Vincent Bissett, who no longer has an official role on the ICU Executive Committee, but has lead the charge in preparing labels for the journal.

We'd also like to thank our contributors, and to say again that new ones are always welcome - many hands make light work!
