1st report of International Selection Committee, dated 2nd February and approved by ICU executive three days later

The Senior Selection Committee of Jack Killane, Mark Orr, Vincent Bissett & Gerard MacElligott (Chairman) has considered Olympiad selections.

The committee, with the exception of Mark Orr, met on Wed 1st Feb. Mark's views were conveyed to the rest of the committee by phone & email.

The decisions arrived at were all unanimous.

For the Men's team the same "weighted rating" process was used as for the last Olympiad.

The calculation process:

• Weighted ICU = 50% of Jan 2006 + 30% of Sept 2005 + 20% of Sept 2004
• Weighted FIDE = 50% of Jan 2006 + 30% of Oct 2005 + 20% of Oct 2004
• The final weighted rating is 60% of ICU weighted + 40% FIDE weighted
