112 tournaments were rated this season, 2013-14, of which 29 were foreign. Last season the equivalent figure were 136 and 30. 1024 players with ICU IDs (most of them paid up members) played at least one rated game (1022 in 2012-13).

Some new features were introduced to the ratings web site (see the changelog for details):

• In December a live rating list was introduced which is updated every time a new tournament is rated.
• In January extra information was added to the downloadable files of player data to help tournament reporters.
• In February a modification was made to downloadable data to help organisers detect players trying to enter tournaments for which their current rating is too high.
• In July the way data is synchronised between the main database and the ratings database was modified to take account of changes to the main database.
