Work has been going on since before the start of this season on a new version of the main website using more up-to-date technologies. This new version was deployed earlier than planned in July when a major problem developed with our old hosting provider, even though not all features had been implemented at that time. Work to complete the migration is still ongoing and should be finished within 2-3 months. The new site has some enhancements over the old version and will provide a solid foundation for further improvements in the future.

The main site has migrated from an ancient version of Linux on a provider-managed shared server to a recent version of Centos Linux on a self-managed private server. The main difference is that we now have the freedom to do whatever we want with our server (which is good) but also the responsibly for its day-to-day management (which is OK as long as we have a suitably experienced webmaster).

The ratings site used to be hosted on a similar, but slightly out-of-date, Centos server. Now, for the first time, both sites are hosted on the same server, resulting in a modest saving for the ICU's hosting costs (about €20 per month rather than €30).
